We hope you will join us on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 6:00 PM at the Harvard Club in Boston for our 20th Anniversary Gala Health Care UNSCRIPTED: Building Bridges for Women in Need. We are proud to be honoring the work of President and Founder Dr. Roseanna H. Means.
Health Care Without Walls is celebrating 20 years of innovative health care support for the growing—and often overlooked—populations of women who are homeless or living in dire poverty. Over the course of twenty years HCWW has helped thousands of women over 220,000 times in our Shelter Clinics and Bridges Programs. As we continue to strengthen and better the lives of these women and educate colleagues in the medical profession, we are also preparing to pass the torch and position HCWW and the thousands of women we support for continued success
The evening will feature a cocktail reception, silent and live auction, gourmet dinner and live entertainment. For more information contact Eileen at (781) 239-0290 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Roseanna H. Means, MD founded Health Care Without Walls in 1999 as “Women of Means” with the aim of helping homeless women get the “means” to move forward through an innovative approach that was personalized, gender-specific and trauma-informed. Despite the myriad of health care services in Boston, homeless women were still falling through the health care safety net, so Dr. Means made the choice to be their voice and advocate for a care model that emphasized context and accessibility. Dr. Means remodeled the assumptions and expectations embedded in traditional health care delivery into life-saving and cost-effective solutions that preserve each woman’s dignity and respect.
